Black boxes/line in menu bar!

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?:

Weird black boxes and lines on the menu bar. Happens once every two months or so to me.
What is this? Is it just finder freaking out or is something wrong with my computer? Video RAM?
I've tried googling this, but no luck. Just a lot of shape-shifter themes.

Have you tried changing the desktop wallpaper? Maybe the file is corrupted.

What happens when you select the Finder menu? Does that portion of the menu recover?

It might also be an issue with the menubar's opacity. This might help.
