Hmm, that's odd. Open up Terminal and type "killall Dock" without the quotes. That will restart your dock. Whenever you have a problem with your dock, try "killall Dock" first. Also, make sure you capitalize the "D" in Dock, or else it won't do anything.
 
Is this on your 24" Alu Imac?

There are various posts on here regarding this, looks like some kind of (VERY ANNOYING!) bug that Apple havent addressed.

my guess is something using up areas of ram on the graphics card? I see this without fail every other week so kind of makes me laugh when you see peoples threads talking about how many months their Mac has been switched on.
Sure I put my Mac to sleep everyday but I have to do a hard reboot at least every week to clear this.
The only none Apple apps I currently run are VisualHub and Parallels (I am sure its parallels causing the issue)
