Just a heads up, sites like Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc. are allowing you to order your toys online right now with the Black Friday discounts!!

Thought this might help a few of us that didnt want to wait in line to get some good deals!!

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!:apple:

Curious about a Best Buy black Friday price match. A few weeks ago I bought a WD 500GB external HDD for $129. I see that it will be $99 tomorrow. If I go into the store with the receipt, will they refund the $30 or will the not honor a black Friday price?

Can I just make a quick off topic question?

Does BF apply globally or only US in the apple online store?

If I remember correctly last year the day-after-Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday) Apple discount only was available in the US. However, the rest of the world had a one day sale sometime soon after (maybe the next week).

I see from blackfriday.info that circuit city has the MyBook Essential 1TB hard drive for $199... anyone have any luck with the MyBook? This one is USB, so I'm not too sure about it. I'm going to use it for Time Machine so I don't really care about the speed, but I'm kinda low on USB ports. Still I don't want to pay a premium just because I'm low on USB ports...

$199 is pretty dang good tho.

I know someone linked Wikipedia, but I thought that was cold:p

Yes, it's US-only because it's after the US Thanksgiving holiday.

Black Friday has historically been the start of the holiday season in the US, and the busiest shopping day of the year for most retailers; hence, they go "into the black" on that day. And yes, Thanksgiving was actually moved INTO November in order to have a longer shopping season:rolleyes: Apparently early December wasn't good enough.

I'm going to order my external drive online from Circuit City...no need to get up at 4am.

I actually ordered this earlier today on their online store. The rebate is a mail-in though. I am using it for the same reason but my experience w/ MyBook Essential Hard Drives is that they do their job pretty darn well (I have two other 500GB). But I couldn't pass up a price like that ..

I tried getting it but the website said I could only buy it in store (which it didn't say earlier, I swear) so I ended up getting a 750GB MyBook USB+Firewire from MacMall for $209.

How'd that work out for ya?

I didn't end up getting it because I'm not sure that it's the best retailers can do. It was $80 for 500GB, but for Black Friday, that's weak. I'm hoping that as we get closer to Christmas, retailers will get desperate, since this year is expected to be bad for retailers.

If not...oh well. At the rate technology moves, 500GB will be $80 in six months:p

Besides, I really don't need it yet...

Today's Deal: Frys 1GB Crucial

Just wanted to give you all heads up that Frys have 1GB Crucial memory for $4.99 + shipping after $20 rebate.

I just picked one for myself. Shipping for me was around $6 so that's approximately $11 after rebate.

Here is the link:

Hope this helps someone out! :)

Note: the site was really slow probably related to BF. Also I think rebate is only good for 1 per address.
