Black iBook G3 mod?

I have seen this black case mod of the iBook G3 Dual USB, and I love it. I would like to make my machine look like this:

I have never modded a computer, and I was wondering if any of you could recommend me any kind of paint that would pair well with the case of the iBook?

I have opened mine, and it seems to be the version with the transparent cover painted on the inside:

What do you think would be the best way to do something like this without ruining the thing?

Painting plastic with paint is all in the prep. Use an adhesion promoter, thoroughly clean the surface before painting, maybe surface sand before, etc.

I’m not expert. I usually paint metal and steel (car restoration). Do some research about suggested brands of paint tat adhere to whatever the iBook is made of.
