Hey guys,

I have a 2018' MacBook Pro 15' (Radeon Pro 560X version) and a LG 4K display 32UK550-b.

And when I play SOME videos, the places where should be pure black look like deep greenish color.

It doesn't look that bad in person but I enhanced the brightness and contrast ratio of the camera to demonstrate what I meant.

The weird thing is, this only happens with SOME youtube videos, and some local videos with specific player app (like the black top-bottom bars of the movie look greenish).
The display shows black correctly elsewhere. Like the pure black UI of Chrome, or pure black pictures.
Like the image below (the left is black bar of the video, not the video content).

I played the same video from iPad to show the video itself has no issues.

And the internal display has no issues whatsoever with integrated graphic or Radeon pro.

Here are some extra information:

I tried three different monitors: LG 32ul750, Philips 328P, LG 32uk550 (I replaced the monitor twice to get the dead-pixel free panel), all of them have the same issue. So this is not on monitors side.

Tried HDMI 2.0 (two usb-c to HDMI cables) and Displayport 1.2 (a usb-c to displayport cable). The same.

Of course tried rebooting/resetting SMC/reinstalling the OS. No fix.

Tried tweaking color profiles/display settings, none of them can get rid of this.

Any thoughts please??

this forum is dead.
I don't think the forum is "dead;" I just don't think anyone has an answer to this really odd issue. If the cables and monitor and videos themselves have been isolated and are not the problem, I'm not sure what else to check, except perhaps your web browser, and that seems unlikely because you mention the same problem with an App. Maybe you can tweak the color profile in the display settings ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

You're still under warranty for another could months (at least). Perhaps take it to an Apple Genius for his/her thoughts.

I just bought this monitor during the cyber monday sale.
Have you checked the "color temperature" and other color settings?

Mine looks fine with 2018 Mac Mini.
