So I'm looking for a 13.3" black Macbook, actually the first generation one (the 80GB) and obviously I can't use the selling/buying section here yet so I'm looking for advice on online buying. I don't mind refurbished, etc. but I'm just looking for the cheapest possible solution. I know eBay's an option and I'm in the UK but I'm willing to buy from somewhere that offers international shipping. Thanks, hope you guys can help.

rev A blackbooks are at least 2 years old,you can't really find one that's refurbished, look for a powerseller on ebay or at least for one that has real good feedbacks.
good luck.

How much should I be looking to pay?

I'd guess since they're old and the first generation, they'd be kinda cheap (for Mac standards) by now.

anything in good conditions, made in 2006, under 600$ would be a good deal in my opinion, the good thing is you won't lose much selling it a few months later. But you can pay about 4 hundred more for a black refurb that is like new and still has a 1 year warranty, you'd still be able to buy apple care during the first year.

Weird as it sounds, I'm specifically looking for the first gen black macbook 13.3" with specs of 1GB and 80GB, I don't want anything else.

...yep, I said weird.

Check out the market forum at ilounge.com. It is a great place for ipods but there is a strong enough mac interest there and no restriction for market usage. Good Luck and have fun.

Hm, I looked and could only see iPod classifieds. Nevermind. Back to eBay it is.

Damn, that would have been right in my price range. :(

I really think that I got over on the person who bought it. Although it was in pristine condition with 2 gigs of ram, I don't think it was really worth it. The core duo processor is no where near as the core 2 duo and the thing got hotter than the surface of the sun.

It is a great machine, but I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it.

Well I have a budget of £400 at the most, which is like $600... so I should be able to find one.

There's one ending tomorrow, it's on 215 at the moment...hopefully I can get that.

I'm just hoping there's not some dude who's willing to pay something absurd for it.

I know but yeah, some guys still bid crazy... male competitiveness I guess.
