Seems like a really bad deal. $50 bumps you up to an Alu MB.

With a slower processor and no Firewire. Also, I'm more a fan of the polycarbonate case -- it's quite durable and I like the look a bit more than the aluminium.

I would take the better graphics, faster memory, aluminum unibody, glass trackpad, led backlit display over the plastic anyday. I can live without FireWire.

you may want to check out bestbuy. we just got a open box black macbook from them for $800. machine looks brand new. we even got the warranty reset by apple so it has the 1 year warranty in place and we can buy applecare etc. big discounts on open boxes there

That's a mixed bag for me.

Faster memory and LED backlighting are pluses in my book, but the aluminium case is a minus. As for the glass trackpad and better graphics, neither really matter that much -- I don't game, and I don't care about "multitouch gestures".

i'm with ya on this one. i see the aluminum casing as a negative too. it can dent/scratch very easily and cannot be replaced. unless, of course, you want to spend $700+ on it. with the polycarbonate, you can get separate pieces replaced if need be for cheap. ie, top case, bottom case, wrist area, bezel, etc.
