Black magic intensity pro

Right now I use an Happauge HDPVR with EyeTV software to get HD stuff off my dvr. After I have the footage in eyetv I have to export in a format that I can edit ( read ProRes 422) If I understand the black magic card correctly I can capture footage directly into Final cut Pro. My question is to fold.

First, Can the black magic card do this.
Second, will the card dvi/component dongle work with the component outputs on a set top dvr box.
