Hey, guys - so I'm running into a bit of a problem that seems a bit out of my league.
Right now I'm using a setup where I'm supposed to be simultaneously capturing HD and SD from the same source. It's worked fine in the past, but a colleague set it up for me and is unavailable atm - can't be reached.
I'm using a Panasonic DVCPRO HD deck, wiring it through aja ioexpress, and capturing HD through FCP. That's working beautifully.
Thing is to capture SD, I'm trying to go directly from the panasonic to the Black Magic video recorder card, and capturing small SD clips (for transcribing purposes). That's where I'm running in to my problem. For the life of me, I can't get any video feed in the Black Magic recorder. I've tried every video output from both the AJA and the Panasonic Deck, and the best I've gotten is a few times I get a noisy, distorted mess with no video feed.
I've tried both Component and Composite, and I don't have an S-Video adapter long enough to reach (the company sent some wires, but I think they just tossed a bunch of stuff into a box and said "screw it".
I'm getting audio fine, so I can't tell where the problem lies.
So, do you think the problem lies with the cables, the USB card, or me?
Any helpful input would be GREATLY appreciated.
