Even with after rebooting and NO apps running, the fans now run 100% all the time on Lion.

Any ideas here? This may be worth going back to SL for.

After doing some Googling, I have found this is normal after installing Lion because spotlight is indexing the computer. Mine shows it has 30 hours to go. I'll give it a chance to complete and if the fans don't stop spinning full time, then I'll go back to SL.

If you're ever worried about fan noise, check Activity monitor and sort by 'CPU' and chose to show all processes, you'll probably see something that's working in the background.

In your case, a process called mdworker would show up as the user '_spotlight".

Yes, this is how I found out what was using my CPU. It goes as high as 49%.

I'm fine now as long as the fans stop spinning all the time once spotlight is finished.
