Somewhere, Overthere
I'm trying to decide which iPod to get, but how do I choose?
I've heard that the black scratches more easily than the white, but I'm not sure that is true... Anyone have any recommendations??

Thanks

Here's what I recommend: Get the one you think looks nicest. There are only 2 choices.

Or just get the black one.
No wait.......you better get the white one.
Or make that the black one.

Hope that helps.

I've got a white 3G ipod which I love but I was given a black nano for my birthday and I have to scratches yet after almost a month (been keeping it in an Apple sock).

Guy at work has the white and I think the black looks best mainly because it's different to all the other generations.

My 2p worth

Yeah I agree. Black is probably more popular just because there wasn't previously black. Now, the question is, should you gert a 60 GB? I mean $100 for double the space, a 6 hours jump in battery life, and merely .1 inch increase in thickness. Hmmm......

is that a serious question? y'know there's no difference between them aside from colour, dont you?

essentially, you're saying "could you guys tell me which colour i prefer?"

what is up with this!?!??!

there are 2 colours,,...just pick one. Does scratching really matter? The ipod's sound quality will not lower if it scratches.

and if your really worried, get a case for it.

Just pick the one you like

get the color you like the most... get some sanding paper (hope this is the right word for it in english) rub it gently over it... (it will scratch anyways...) now it is allready scratched so you can stop worrying and enjoy the magic of your new iPod :p

or buy the color you like and leave it in the box... yay no scratches EVER...

or the last option disasemble it... leave the outer shell in the box, put the rest in a little box so you won't break it while takeing it with you... and once in a while open your box with the outer shell and enjoy the non scratched surface...

all these words are written just to tell you: don't think about scratches... they will happen, they only won't happen if you just don't buy one :p

PS: I would go with the black one ;) but that's just my opinion... enjoy it whatever color you get...

Ease up guys, the OP is asking for your recomendations because he cares what you think, not to annoy you. Perhaps the OP doesn't know about the "search" function yet. I know I didn't at first. It's the holidays...be NICE:D
P.S. I dont know much about which shows scratches worse. Look at it like this...it's a very portable device that will go in and out of your pocket about a million times...scratches are inevitable. Don't sweat them too much.
I, personally, prefer black. It's classy and hot at the same time. ;)

So many choices, so little time. Oh, the anguish of it all! Maybe next week we can suggest a toothpaste flavor.

they make cinnamon-red nanos now??

eegads!

;)

and to OP:
GET BOTH! :D:D

From a fashionista's point of view, I'd say get the white one. White goes with everything. Say you wore a black shirt and blue jeans. Maybe you could wear some white sneakers. Then your white undershirt and your sneakers are what makes your white iPod make sense. Now, if you wore a blue shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers, a black iPod would look just plain silly. I don't know, black is a very bold color and should only be used on special occasions. This is why I bought the white one, and a vinyl decal; black.
