I'm new to the site and am a huge Apple fan. I'm 15 right now, and am looking at getting my first Mac, the Macbook. I'm at a crossroads here though about whether to go with the blackbook as its called, or the $1299 whitebook, which is really the same specs, just a smaller hard drive, I would solve that problem with a 160GB portable hard drive, that if I bought the blackbook, I wouldn't be able to purchase. (On a budget here) Any help on this?? Thanks!!

Really the only difference is the color and material used.
The white macbook shows scratches way easier, and the plastic seems to crack easier under heat.
The black macbook shows fingerprints a lot easier, but this is easily cleaned up, but is more expensive.
If you take care of your macbook, there should be no problem with the plastic, whichever one looks better is up to you, and if the price justifies the looks.

How about a white macbook and a black/red/purple incase hardcase? I have a white and I'm looking at the colored hardcases from incase.

although rumors are pointing to this style of design [al casing and black edge around the lcd] im not a fan at all. Perhaps its too complicated having the above aspects and a white keyboard? My appreciation for apple notebooks is huge, mainly due to them being all one colour/material whether its black, white or al. (I dont like the MBA btw)

Yeah, thats the same way I feel. When I heard the rumor of metal macbooks, just couldn't picture it in my head as being the same as the Macbook Pro. That's why I want the current Macbook. I also love the white, as most of my other stuff is white, i.e. Xbox 360, etc. Can't wait till later in the week!!
You should hold out for the MacBook Pro G5 -- I heard that they're due out next Tuesday.

I'm looking at possibly switching to a MB, and I think I'm gonna get a white one. I actually think I like the black a bit better, but I can't see spending an extra $200 just for the color and bigger hard drive. I could buy AppleCare with that money, and I have a desktop computer for any big storage needs.
