Black or White?

I'm pretty much resolute that the aluminum macbooks aren't going to be released in time for the back to school promo and even if they are I wouldn't want to be one of the guinea pigs. As much as I want an aluminum macbook, I'm willing to wait until all the kinks get worked out for those and settle with the current gen for now. So which should it be: black or white? Each has its own setbacks (white: everyone has it, discoloration over time; black: more expensive, attracts fingerprints)

I got the black because it doesn't show dirt as easily, and also to avoid the discoloration problem. Also I prefer matte laptops over shiny ones. At the end of the day it pretty much comes down to personal preference, both are very nice laptops.

well for me, I was going to upgrade a white one to 250 gb so it was a $100 difference for black.

i kept changing my mind for the longest time and i finally settled on white. then i realized all my friends had gotten white ones, and the black one kept jumping into my head, so when i was ordering online, i made the decision to get black, who cares about the $100 since i get $100 off for education discount anyways.

in the end, its the one you can see yourself typing on for a few years til you get a new one :D

Another vote for black. I got a deal on mine, and it's so much more trouble-free cosmetically than my old white iBook G4 was. I love it!

Black.
I know you can get the white one with the same specs for $100 cheaper, but the black one looks so cool.
And you'll be different from all the people with white Macbooks.

Anyone know if the black macbook has problems with case cracking like the white macbook?

yeah they are the exact same notebook, just different case finishings.

it happens from closing the lid down too hard/fast, so just be careful with that, and be sure not to apply pressure to the top of the screen while the macbook is closed.

google too eh...
