Black Piece on back of iPhone 1st Gen

Okay, so I fixed my iPhone- don't ask me how. Anyways, the black piece at the bottom of the phone was taken off, and now it won't fit back on. Is it possible to put it back on, and if so, how can I do this? Thanks.
