Hi-
My mom's Macbook Pro is freaking out, I have not had the chance to play with it yet. These are her words: A light on the front comes on. It sounds like it should be on. There is a little click. But not the music when you start up. I was quitting safari, going to shut it down.

I think she bought it in late 2006 or in 2007.
Any suggestions? Should I just bring it to the Apple store for her?

Thanks.

Thanks MacDawg for your reply.
Turns out it was not the NVIDIA 8600 issue, but it was the logic board. The Apple genius tested for the NVIDIA issue, took it in back popped out the RAM, ran another test and confirmed that it is the logic board that needs to be replaced. So the little MacBook Pro that could is on its way to be fixed and cleaned for a flat rate of $310. My mom is patiently awaiting its return.

Same issue with mine except I hear a start-up sound. I really hope it's the NVIDIA 8600 issue that I just learned about so that it can be replaced for free.
