I'm so use to the gray startup and shutdown screen in previous OS X versions but on Yosemite I'm not sure something went wrong or if this is the norm now. I still get the gray startup screen but when I shut down is no gray screen at all. Actually there's no image at all just my dark screen that you can tell there is no image due to the noticeable backlight. I did the regular upgrade from Mavericks 10.9.5 two Yosemite 10.10 from the MAS.

Is this non-gray shutdown screen the norm now or did something go wrong with my upgrade? It's not a problem because computer still shuts down and starts up normally. I'm just checking to be sure. If this is normal then I leave it as the others. I guess I can just do a clean install and migrate my account from Time Machine. Any info is greatly appreciated. :)
