hey i hope somebody can help or give me some advice,
well today i decided to replace my battery on the iphone
due to my battery lasting an half hour, an hour at most
so as you can gather thats quite annoying
well i followed a guide on the web checked a few first to
see if any gave any more intense guides
well after taking my iphone apart and replacing the battery
when i placed everything back in the order the guide told me to
i attempted to turn it back on i got nothing when i plugged the
cable in and tryed to turn it on i got a black screen flickerd on and off
every 5 secs or so didnt time it.
so i looked for a few guides from other peoples problems and nothing has
worked so far
i have tryed holding down the power button and the home button
i dont get a silver apple i just get a black screen with i line through that
doesnt appear black near the top
when i try getting into DFU i dont get anyware due to itunes not detecting
my device at all

i really need to sort this if anybody could help it wold be great :)

thanks for reading hope you can help

no video - black screen

Typically when iPhones do not show any graphics there are few things you need to check. First open the phone and verify cable #1 through 4 are properly attached and undamaged ( #1 - #4 for 3G, #1 - #7 3GS ). 2. Once verified, make sure you leave the iPhone plugged into an AC outlet via the USB/AC adapter for 15 to 30 minutes ( do not use a USB to computer to charge a new battery ). If the battery you replaced is exceptionally weak the display will not turn on until there is sufficient charge. 3. If after step 2, the display does not return, take out the new battery and put the old battery back in and verify the LCD is still working 4. If the screen does not turn on, you will want to try another screen to verify the screen is or is not damaged. 5. If you still are not getting the screen to appear.... you are going to have to test the logic board :(.

thank you for replying :)

well firstly how would i tel if the cables are damaged ^^ bit of a newbie
also if they are connected correctley
as for the charge before i attempted to switch the device off
i left it on for a good hour or so with outlet

i father seems to think i have bricked it, i really hope i havent

also forgot to ask, how would i go about testing the logic board(assuming that is the mainboard)

stripped it down bare, and put humpty together again
this time it came on, its now charging with the charging symbol when
plugged in so let it charge up n then see what the damage is :) lol

no luck :(
doesnt turn on
but when cables in get battery charging but doesnt move from red
cant go into normal recovery
DFU i keep getting errors :( 1604, 1601, 1600

this phone is really starting to test my patients
got a realy nice target glued to window ready to score up the throw

you didnt brick your phone just by taking it apart. now, you could have not put humpty back together correctly or you could have a plug that you did not get plugged in correctly. also, where did you get the battery? please dont say ebay or amazon..............that could be your problem if you did. you might not have your dock connector in correctly but there are a few little copper tabs on the board that may have been broke off. for someone with no experience replacing a battery can be a difficult task.

well i have taken it apart so many times now and checked over everything i can see
unfortunatly i dont have much of a budget so yes the battery came from ebay :(

well at the moment my iphone is black i dont get my battery symbol anymore when its plugged in, i went through the phone with a guy on the net he told me steps to take and what to do inside but after doing what he said its gone back to how it was originally when i posted this

update

ok so i just tested my battery with a multimetre
and the battery is reading 3.7v
which is what it says it should be on the battery :(
