Hi everyone, Last week I replaced a crashed HD in a friends iMac (emc2389)
but unfortunaltly I must have done something wrong, 'cause although the HD is working properly (he has an external monitor connected) theiMacs screen stays black.
I've checked all the connections, and they seem to be allright, when taking the display off the flat(data?)cable popped off, so the connector or the cable might have been damaged, could this account for the black screen?
Led #4 does not light up, does that mean I ruined the display?
By the way, I was nót wearing (foolishly) an anti-static wristband.
when I reconnected the iMac I noticed little sparks when the usb connector of an external HD touched the housing of the mac.
all advise is welcome!
Thanx!
