Screen went black yesterday. On the external monitor it’s also black with a visible clear cursor. This looks like LCD damage? No idea what’s caused it - no water damage or pressure to the screen. Machine has been running perfectly for three years. Obviously main priority is data recovery.

Just wondering... do you "clean" the surface of the display much?
If yes, what do you use?
(resembles "staingate" to me)

Do you have a brick n mortar Apple Store anywhere near?
Sometimes, taking it to them is "the best way"...

Hardly ever as I try not to touch the screen. I don’t think this is the result of pressure to the screen. Looks like LCD damage and a costly repair?
