Hi,

I have an older 15" powerbook. The left hinge snapped off the display the other day, and now the screen doesn't work. The screen is either black upon boot, or, if I wiggle the display a little (which I'm afraid to do, as to avoid damaging the wires), i sometimes get a very out of focus blue background with all sorts of disjointed colors (like the snow from a bad reception on a TV, but in color). I haven't touched the computer for a day. I'm wondering what any of you might suggest to do to get it fixed? The hinge if obvious. But is the display problem caused by a deteroration or damage to the wires connecting the computer to the display? Can anyone suggest a few links that might offer repairs or parts for less than Apple? Is this salvageable without paying at least a grand (public disclosure: i'm not the most computer literate when it comes to hardware repairs).

Thanks for any help and advice
