Black Screen on Windows 7 Login (2012 15" MBP)

I recently installed Win 7 on my Macbook Pro, it was running fine until I installed a series of updates. The update must have killed something because when I booted in to the OS again (the next day), the login screen was black, with a cursor visible when I turned up the brightness (but would quickly disappear).

Anyone know how to fix this? Preferably without having to reinstall anything.

The startup repair option does not need a reinstallation of the entire OS.
