Black screen/white cursor after screensaver

Morning all,

I have a problem on my Mac Pro, the trouble is it's very intermittent, but it has just happened again, so I thought I'd try and fix it with the help of the forums.

I have it setup with a screensaver and a basic password, the problem is often I go back to the Mac and have a black screen, and a white cursor, which I can move around, just no logon box.

My only fix so far has been to pull the plug, which I want to try and avoid doing today!

Any idea?
