I have a MacBook Pro 2010, and just upgraded the hard drive to a 1TB Samsung SSD 840EVO. However, I have been unable to open Windows 7 in Bootcamp as I get the message, Insert bootable device and press any key.
1. I have pressed ALL keys and nothing happens.
2. I tried to rebook with the original Windows 7 disc. In the beginning, it at least loaded with the disc, and asked me to either install as an upgrade or custom install. Since this was not an upgrade, I needed to use Custom - however custom will erase any data...so no point.
3. So I installed Parallels and loaded Windows 7 (worked fine) Then I created a Repair Disc for Windows 7 64 bit.
4. First time I booted up in BootCamp with Repair Disc - all looked good. I followed the links on the software, I checked Repair, and it took AGES..., but eventually said to restart, so I did.
5. But then I got a black screen with a flashing cursor.... sat on it for an hour or so, nothing.
6. So have since then, tried to reboot with Windows Disc, rebook again with repair Disc, reboot with EFI disc (this appears as an option next to the Windows disc when I power up holding the ALT key - so I thought I would give it a ago... I have tried these many, many times, even did a new Repair Disc and nothing.
7. When I reboot with the EFI disc, it starts loading windows files, but when it gets to the end, it blocks.
Soooo - no matter what I do, I either get a black screen with a cursor, or message to insert bootable disc and press any key...
I am desperately trying to recover this as I have a special program on Windows 7 which will cost me $$$ if I need to have it reinstalled again.
PLEASE, PLEASE can someone put me out of my misery.
Otherwise I may need to delete Bootcamp partition and re-do from scratch...
Thanks....
