I had an iMac that run Tiger, it was in sleep mode and electricity was cut off many times. At one time, it wouldn't boot and I had a black screen with white text. I was advised to run DiskWarrior. It was supposed to do something called "rebuild directories".

It worked and my mac run just fine, but I want someone to explain to me what happened and is it possible I lost any files that I didn't notice?

Was the screen like this? That's a Kernal Panic notice and could have been a result of the power cuts. The restart has obviously cleared it so things should be ok now.

Thought i'd jump on the back of this, my other half has a 2016 MacBook Pro the same message appeared on hers. The only problem is the restart hasn't helped, it will load the progress bar for the login page, she'll then input her password for her account, then its basically rinse and repeat of the above.

Also the fans are running on full on every startup, even though the MBP itself is cool not even luke warm.

The MBP won't even load safe mode, any ideas on how to get around this?
