Black squiggly lines

Hi All,

I've had this iMac since the refresh in 07 and I love it. But now down in the left hand corner when there is a certain type of white like when booting I see black squiggly lines all over the place.

Anyone have any idea what they are? I'm thinking I should take it in and see what they can do for me since I have apple care....
