black stains on macbook keyboard

Hi

I just took off my thin plastic keyboard cover for my macbook and have found black stains on 1/3 gaps between the keys, looks like there has been a fire under my keyboard (macbook and keys are all working fine).

Any idea what this is from ? is it from built up heat under the keyboard cover?
