iOS 7 features the status bar within applications. I feel that a black status bar would look better and it would be easier to read the information. what do you think? A integrated status bar or a status bar apart from the design?

Definitely the translucent status bar, providing Apple can tweak the algorithm that changes the text from white to black depending on the background.

It really depends on how well it's integrated. In iOS 6 I thought that the tinted statusbar was pretty hideous and when I jailbroke I immediately got a tweak that turned it black always. However, the iOS 7 statusbar integration is excellent and IMO makes the statusbar even less noticeable than the all black version.

I think the status bar looks best in OS X and I think it should've been brought over. It's very similar to the dock with its translucency, but the text is always black and it has a small drop shadow that allows it to work nicely with both light and dark wallpapers.
