I have a Samsung 50" plasma HDTV (1365x768). Whenever try to connect my 13" unibody MacBook pro to the TV (HDMI cable + Mini DisplayPort->HDMI adapter ---> HDMI/DVI input in my TV), I get black stripes on each side of the screen. It's really annoying when watching a movie.

I use SwitchResX, I'm attaching screenshots with my settings. I'm also attaching pictures of those stupid stripes. I don't want to buy any more adapters and cables because they are pricey here where I live. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

I get this too, and trying things like changing the resolution doesn't do anything. If anyone has a solution to this there'll be at least two very grateful members here :)

I know this thread is really old but I managed to get rid of the annoying stripes. You have to configure the TV as an extended desktop instead of mirroring the image :)
