I'm looking for a video that compares the iPhone 5 in black with the new iPhone 5s "Space Gray" option.

Here's my issue:

I really want a 5s with a black front.
The white front never matches the color temperature of the display.
Black frames work all the time. For photos, movies and games.

Black enhances the contrast and is not changing due to ambient light.

So, unlike the 5c, I have to go "Space Gray" because that's the only option with a black front.

Anyways, has anyone seen a good video comparing the original dark color with the new one?

I'm asking for the original iPhone5 because I want to know the difference in "darkness". There are plenty of videos comparing the different 5s models.

Not a video but still a cool side by side

The front of space gray is BLACK. The only reason I understand they got rid of the Slate is because the chamfered edges would get scuffed and steal would show whereas on the new space gray the edges are chrome already.

AppleFan91 - Thanks.

What do you (all) think about my reasoning against a white front and the difference of color regarding the display tint?

Does anyone have tried iOS7 on a white phone?

I think it's too much white everywhere and if its different whites I'll be disappointed. So ... Space Gray is the way to go. (In my opinion)

I have been using iOS 7 since beta 1 on my slate iphone and originally I wanted to get a white 5s because everything in iOS7 is more white oriented plus white sell faster and better than black for whatever reason. I still may go for a silver but I like the premium look of the black or space gray as they call it

I understand that the front of both of them is black.

I just wanted to compare the "level of darkness" between the back edges and the space gray.

Maybe the space gray is too "light" to look good.

Do you understand what I mean?

Oh, and before your post I didn't even realize the chamfered edge is not dark anymore. So, thank you for that little detail.

The Space Gray and Silver phones are basically the same phone, with a different front and back glass.

I feel the same about the white front, I used iOS 7 with a black front iPhone 4S and it still felt great

Ugh I hate how Apple cheaped out on this. It seems that rather than using better coating so that the slate coating doesn't scuff as easily, Apple instead used a lighter coat so that scuffs would be less noticeable

Not having the slate option is the one thing putting me off from the 5s right now. Will still have to see the grey one in store but I think the black/slate was the best design and color combination.

It not steal or steel, its aluminum.

Honestly, are you sure?

On all photos and videos I have seen the Space Gray seems to be darker than the Silver model.

But ... I don't know. This is what bugs me. Everyone is showing off the gold version, I want to see the gray upclose.

The silver and the space gray are not even close to the same don't listen to them.

Have you looked up the video of the ipod nano in space gray? it gave a pretty good idea of what the color actually looks like.

As to your question about the white front, I think that people are either way more sensitive to that border color difference than I am, or they are being over the top about it. I have alternated back and forth between white and black over the different models and I think I actually prefer white.

@knowimagination: Have you seen iOS7 on a white device?
Do you think it's too much white or the difference is annoying?

I have iOS7 on my white iPad mini right now and I think it compliments it rather nicely. Even in the settings menu where there is a lot of the white look it doesn't bother me that the hues are not exactly the same. That is saying a lot also, because I am normally very particular about things like that.

Argh!! I still can't decide between white/silver and black/grey. I've had 3 black iPhones and want a change but I just can't commit to white.

Thank you for your answers. Most people are not that thoughtful around here.
Much appreciated.

I'm going to put ios 7 on my iPhone 4 and see how it looks (a mostly white OS) with a black phone. That will influence the colour of my next iPhone, I love the white iPad.
