I am trying to decide which sports band to get.
Originally I just wanted it for gym as I already have a classic buckle.
However after reading posts I think I may wear it out as well.

I am undecided between the Black and White sports bands as they both have pros and cons.

Pros for Black band

It is 10g lighter than the white band.
It also will not get as dirty as white band

Pros for White band

It wont show scratches as easily as black band.
Its is a different colour alternative to my black classic buckle.

What are your thoughts?

Why is the black one lighter? Makes no sense and first time I am hearing that

The white band has more pigment, therefore it weighs more than the black. I'm going to get a white band eventually, though.

Given the peeling issues we're seeing with the black, I'd go for the white personally.

I had the white and sold the entire watch to get a model with a black band. I am an attorney and white doesn't cut it in the courtroom. IMHO black covers a wider range of situations, from dressy to casual.

I've worn my black sport band out gardening for days now and it's not scratched at all. I've scratched at it with my fingernail to scrape off some garden detritus and it's not scratched. The only signs of wear on it are not visible and are where the band comes into contact with itself when you close it and tuck the strap in. I only rinse with plain water from my well. No chlorine in it. I dry thoroughly to avoid mineral deposits. Distilled water is probably best for everyone and I'll start using it myself.

There are some defective black sport bands out there that apparently are on a batch of space gray sport watches and those peel.

The black sport probably looks a lot like the band you already have. My watch on casual glance looks a lot like my husband's black classic buckle watch.

That's why I have the black classic buckle :)

I usually am not a fan of white bands, but since I already have black I want something different. I was shocked at how well the white looked in person. It could be b.c I have "tanner" skin so the contrast plays nice.

Thanks for all the replies. I am how ever still undecided. Please could I get a few more opinions.

i currently have the white band. i think it is great for work out and "hanging out" but for work, dinner out in town or the club i would prefer the black band. its more subtle and looks more like a watch if that makes sense

$50 is quite a bit when converting to my exchange rate. Its also just a first gen product with no guarantee that the bands will be upward compatible. I've probably already spent too much on it lol. Plus I still need to save some for a decent pair of wireless earphones.

Someone at work described my sport watch with white band a 'really cool' and it certainly looks sporty, and very clean for casual wear. For work it looks a bit out of place however. My black sport band arrived yesterday, and it transforms the look into a really smart looking business watch.

My pros/cons list is as follows:

Black band:

Pros:
1. More versatile
2. Will stand out less; will look more flush with most outfits

Cons:
1. The peeling issue people are talking about
2. You already have a black classic buckle if you ever need a more formal look
3. Can get scratches or marks

White band:

Pros:
1. Since you already have a black classic buckle, it'll be a nice variant
2. Apple's white band may be the best white band out there
3. Plus it adds that classic Apple look to the watch
4. More fun in a casual setting
(2,3,4 are basically the same reason)

Cons:
1. Doesn't go well with business or business casual attire
2. Might stand out more than you'd like

Regardless of what we all think, stick to your gut call. I'm clearly biased here and would go with the white if I was in your situation. To me, the fact that you're even asking about this issue when you already have a black classic buckle suggests that you're more comfortable with black.

Just to give a bit more detail. I am male( not sure if this makes a difference). I also already have a black classic band.

I have never seen the watch or bands in person as I got it delivered to family overseas. I will only be getting it next week when they come to visit. It's hard to tell what it will look like in person as pictures can be deceptive.

I have the exact same band collection. The SS with classic buckle. I wear that primary, but also got the white sport. I just think it made zero sense to buy a black sport when I have a black classic buckle. It is a nice changeup and looks good in a business casual environment.

This user hit a lot of points. I wear the white here and there since I have the black classic buckle. If I got the black sport I would literally only wear it when I work out.

If you start getting an "all rise!" out of the bailiff about once an hour, you can assume he got a watch too. ;)

Can you please post pics of both the black and white sports band on your wrists.
