Black Watch Band

Hi

I recently bought the black sports band for my series 9 in midnight . I previously had the midnight band that it came with but I wanted a pure black band.

I originally looked on eBay and got a 38mm one for a good price but it started peeling within a month and apparently this was a common problem with the original black Apple Watch bands (series 0-2)

So I bought one officially from Apple and was a bit disappointed that it doesn’t appear to be true black. It’s more like a grey-black. I still like it more than the midnight one though but would’ve preferred pure black. Did Apple change the black colour of the band after series 3 or is it just my imagination?

There may have been a slight adjustment since the case size went from 38mm to 40mm. Apple changes cases sizes every three years.

The only way to be sure is pull a band from an Apple box market 38mm then pull another band from a box market 40mm and see if there is a size difference.

Thanks. So could that be the reason why the band was peeling?

Come to think of it, the band slotted in easily but wasn’t that easy to get out. The 40mm band is much easier to get in and out

Recently ordered two of the black magnetic leather link, now discontinued, from Amazon. I was prepared to return them fearing they were not real but they are as real as it gets in the original sealed Apple boxes.
