Anybody know why these other countries are freaking out over BB security? Sounds like they can't read users emails because on BB they are encrypted, but on iPhone and other smartphones they can read our emails?? I thought with iPhone 3GS onwards it was hardware encrypted.

Also, read that corporate BB are they ones more secure, while it implies that consumer BBs are as secure as iPhone. So RIM makes a different version of BB for consumers that's less secure . . . why? Sounds like it would cost RIM more money for 2 different manufacturing processes.

Anyway, these articles don't explain, just report that more and more countries want to shut off BB because they can't spy on BB users.

Its done for security reasons.
If RIM doesnt allow the government to read/spy on suspected terrorists or criminals in general then they could take advantage of that and communicate thru those means.
You dont think that everything is secure and private here in the US either do you? If you're high up on that suspect list they can listen and spy on you as much as they want.

With hardware encryption thought iPhone just as secure as BB. And since iPhone always has been slicker, more user friendly, better to use (except typing), iPhone the superior device.
