pardon my ignorance but doesn't blackberry offer pocketmac 4 for free? does it do the same thing? i do not have a blackberry but i want to get one, hence my question.

I also don't have a Blackberry as of yet, but from what I've been hearing there have been syncing problems with the latest BB's and they are unable to sync via bluetooth. There also sounds like there are a few nice features in the this version such as the iTunes and iPhoto sync for the pearl.

Yep,
I downloaded the BlackBerry software last weak and sync'ed with my 8703 no problem....

AFAIK, it only works with the latest BlackBerrys (the Pearl and 8703), whereas the Windows software method works with pretty much anything from the last 2 years.
