Blackboard app for the ipad

I know that there is an ipad app for the ipad. All I need to know is, can a student use it to do work? Also can the student use it to submit assignments to their teacher right from the ipad? I do not have an ipad but this would b e one of the biggest things that i would need it for. Can anyone please help me?

The blackboard iPhone app is due to be pulled from the app store this month. They are apparently going to be introducing a mobile optimised web app in it's place, and I'd imagine this would have much of the functionality of the full site.
