BlackBook 2.4 Keyboard/Trackpad, AND External Keyboard/Mouse Not working!

So my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.

He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.

Any ideas? I hope this doesn't happen to my MacBook

Reset the PRAM and then the SMC if the PRAM didn't fix it, and let us know if either helped.

if the top case does not work then you cant do a PRAM or SMC, but, any way try it and come back if not then take it to a service center to see if the top case or logic board failed.

He tried it, but the keyboard doesn't work at all. Can't reset PRAM/SMC, Cant boot into Target Disc Mode, Cant press Command and Boot Windows. Nothing.

Since everything you described works over USB, it sounds like an appointment is in order.

forgot about that part haha...

just prey that the top case is making interference with the rest of the macbook if nothing works.
