ok so I have a 2008 blackbook 2.4ghz 2gb ram, perfect condition aside from the white battery. Just came off apple are 5 months ago, so my question keep it or sell it?
My wife mostly uses the system and at times its seems a little slow and the fans kick in annoying to her. So I was thinking maybe a 7200k HD and 4gb of ram will help? Or just sell it and get her a 2010 macbook pro. Thanks for the advice.

The extra ram and HD will help make it faster but the fans will always run more than a MBP, that's just the way this computer is.

I have the exact same MB that I with 4GB ram and I use it more than my 2009 15" MBP.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E600 Safari/6533.18.5)

Alright thanks the system is amazing love it a lot. So I will give upgrades a goo. Any link for ram and a good hd ?

I have a late 2006 BlackBook. I upgraded my HD to a WD 7200rpm 320GB after the original one crashed hard. I haven't done anything with the RAM... yet. I am currently running Lion and it's still a problem.

IMHO, I'd go with an SSD. I have used machines with an SSD, and they SCREAM!
