Has anyone used this machine? Has anyone used this for streaming purposes? Just wanting to know how well this works.

Looking at the output connections on the blackmagic it says it has usb 3.0. Will that be compatible with my c2d macbook pro and wil run fast?

say a computer that had usb 3.0... would this be able to stream using Flash Media Encoder

According to Blackmagic the Shuttle is Windows 7 + USB3 *only*. They say they're working on USB3 for the Mac but haven't found a suitable hardware configuration yet.

I have the Shuttle and have used it to capture video via HDMI on my old Windows 7 machine.

My next project is to try to Bootcamp Windows 7 on my Mac Pro and see if I can fake it into capturing using the CalDigit USB 3 card.

yeah, from all the research I have been doing lately it seems that firewire is on the way down and usb 3.0 is one the rise. For macs its not a problem now because they all ship with firewire. Virtually no pc's ship with them anymore.

I have found a capture card that isnt hd, no big deal, that seems to work with a lot of mediums and everyone seems to like.. Canopus ADVC110..

I wonder if the shuttle will work via Thunderbolt to USB 3 adaptors if anyone ever makes them. It seems that via the Thunderbolt Cinaema display, Apple has created a thunderbolt to FW800/USB2/Gigabit ethernet adaptor. Hopefully they'll sell stand alone adaptors for people who buy MacBook Airs. I wish Apple would have spent a little more money and included USB 3 in the thunderbolt display.

Also, it would be nice if BlackMagic would make a more basic thunderbolt device in the $300-500 range than just a super duper $1000 device. I just don't need all those features and probably never will. If they put the features of the $300 intensity into a $500 thunderbolt version, I'd be willing to pay the premium.
