iPod touch Blackra1n isn't working?

So my iTouch dies on me, and now it is stuck in recovery mode. It is jailbroken, and blackra1n doesn't seem to want to unlock it for me. I've tried many times, no luck. Is there a little trick to it, or what? I have the 3G itouch, pretty sure its 3.1.2

Just restore that should fix it!

Well, the big problem now is that when I attempt to jailbreak it with Blackra1n, it starts to jailbreak, and then it just drops into a blank black screen. Then nothing happens.....
