question....I just tried to jailbreak my brand new ipod touch 3rd gen. I download the file for mac(im running a mbp 17) i open it up click on the thing it says its jailbroken but waiting to rebot. My ipod stays on the usb to itunes screen and all it does is wants to restore to factory settings. What am i doing wrong?

Happened to me also. What I would do:

Restore in Itunes
Once restore is done, click on Control - Eject Ipod
Close Itunes
Run Blackra1n

you're not doing anything wrong actually, once your ipod reboots and goes to the "restore itunes" screen, you need to run blackra1n again to get to the homescreen. It's a tethered reboot so you need to do that every time you reboot the device.
 
Happened to me also. What I would do:

Restore in Itunes
Once restore is done, click on Control - Eject Ipod
Close Itunes
Run Blackra1n

If you do that, you're gonna have to wait for around two hours, and plus you'll have to redo the jailbreak.

Just plug it in when that happens and rerun Blackra1n. Because iPod Touch 3rd Gen's have a tethered jailbreak, in order to turn it on, you must use Blackra1n.
