Blank browsing view when pressing attachment in mail

Has anyone else had this issue?

When I want to attach something to mail, I always get an empty desktop when in fact I have a lot of files there. I will have to click on different tabs on the browsing window before finally seeing those items appear in the desktop tab.

Is this a known bug?
