Blank contacts - thousands!

Outlook 2011, ver 14.0.2

I have thousands of blank contacts.

The same happened about 2 weeks ago and I painfully deleted all 34000 batch by batch. The same has happened again now though so I am looking for a permanent fix.

If you assign a category to all contacts even if it's a generic category like "current" any duplicates will have "no category" assigned. You sort by "no category" and delete.

It's not clear what is causing the duplicates so there is no way to stop this. Your best defense is to create frequent backups of your contacts and events individually in case you need to restore.

File > Export > Contacts
File > Export > Events
