I've been trying to reinstall Windows 7 for quite some time now. I decided to do this because my windows side was constantly freezing when I used certain applications together like Chrome and Skype. Not having anything important on there I just decided to reinstall Windows 7.
I have a MacBook Pro late 2008, using Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB Memory
NVIDIA 9600M GT
So I clear the partition using the Bootcamp Assistant (3.0.4) and pull out my Windows 7 64 bit instal disc. I've used it previously 2 times now so I know it works. I make sure all my software is up to date, and I have to appropriate bootcamp drivers on my USB formatted with the FAT file system. I partition my harddrive, insert the disc and click start installation.
This is where it messes up. It restarts, shows the grey screen, then goes to a blank black screen. There's no blinking cursor or error text. Just a blank screen. The disc runs for a bit then stops and goes quiet.
I have searched the discussions and could not find anything similar to my problem. I have reset my PRAM and my SMC.
The thing that confuses me the most is that I've used this disc twice now and it has worked fine in the past. It is a legit copy of Windows 7 64 bit. It's burned on a DVD-R disc.
If anyone has any suggestions to my problem, that would be much appreciated.
