When I first switched to the Mac in 2003, one of the first applications I bought was Norton SystemWorks. However, since Symantec will no longer support the product, I would rather patronize companies that cater to the Mac community.

However...after believing I had trashed all of the files, some still remain. The Norton Auto-Protect preference pane is still there, and I cannot find it in any of the Preference Pane folders. Can someone help me squash this from my Mac permanently?

Duff-Man says...Norton puts a few files in your system/library/extensions folder...I don't recall exactly but if you find your Norton install log file it will tell you. As for the prefpane...even though you deleted all the stuff in there they sometimes do still show....try deleting your ~/library/caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache file....oh yeah!
