I just got the new ipad and did the bleed test. If I put the ipad in front of my face and look straight at it the screen is all black. If I look at the screen from a 45 degree angle I can see some light red or purple color. is this normal ?

So when i look at it from an angle it should be all black ?

I would say that extreme angles will produce a sort of color shift so I wouldn't worry about it. Chalk it up to crappy LCD tech. :)

So you will regularly be looking at an all black screen at a 45 degree angle during normal usage?

Obviously he won't be and you probably already know that. You also probably know he wants to make sure his new iPad is OK. Is that so wrong or is this part of the MacRumors canned responses?

Doesn't bother me since I don't usually use the iPad from extreme angles.
