I've recently bought a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Pro base model 16GB / 512GB. This is a fantastic machine, and super fast. I am delighted with it.

It is in great condition apart from one thing - a blemish on the screen. This is no problem most of the time, as I can't see it in normal use.
A couple of times where there has been a strong light source, it is visible, but I can adjust the position of the device to make it disappear.

The previous owner told me that he had tried to clean a couple of scratches using some kind of fluid, which caused the marks.

Is there anything I can do to restore the normal appearance of the screen ?

I should say that the attached photo looks far worse than when I'm normally using it !

Thanks.

You could take 4K Grit sandpaper to the whole face . . . on the other hand, you just could just (perceptually) forgive the imperfections, and roll-on with your usage ;)

Thanks, chabig and splifinggate. I suspected that it's best to leave it as it is.

It doesn't affect my enjoyment of using such a superb machine !

If I recall correctly, delamination of the screen coating used to be fairly common and there were people who went so far as to scrub it off. I'm not sure how they did that, but I have seen reports around here that it got rid of the blotches.

Of course, this is risky as hell and if it's really not causing you any issues, I think your plan to just live with it is a perfectly fine one.
