I know this is post really OCD, but I just bought the computer and have been cleaning it with Clorox wipes, followed by a damp cloth then a drying.

I just noticed on the underside of the Macbook after cleaning, some whitish blotches -- and the areas look less shiny to me. Does anyone know what this is? I've tried cleaning it off but it won't come off. It is odd to think it is the wipes since i've cleaned other areas repeatedly with them and there is no damage.

Thanks.

actually i worked it out. I used some mild soap and water. I guess it was oil smudges and Clorox wipes do not have degreasing properties.

DO NOT use clorox wipes on your macbook! It will mess up the finish, just use a little soap and water ( very little as to not drip into components )

Don't worry you are only wiping a pesticide over your computer.

Hope you wash your hands before you eat. :p
