Hello I just got my iPhone 5 for x mas (1st iPhone) and I'm just wondering what that is and why it's blinking at me. I have only noticed till just now.

It's the proximity sensor and also it's looking at your soul so be very afraid lol .

Great eyes! Most people can't see the infrared proximity sensor. It shuts off the display when you are talking on the phone.....
