Help?
I (my better half initially) have a slight problem. G4 powerbook, after entering password, the screen goes into constant blinking. Nothing appears on desktop, nothing helps. Booted fine from firewire external HD, ran a full check on the internal HD, fixed a few empty space errors, fixed permissions, did all the usual pram stuff. DU says the disk is fine, DiskWarrior agrees. And still blinks non-stop.
The real problem is, it looks like someone (who might by accident look a lot like me) seems to have trown out the working copy of the installation dvd...and held on to the cracked (physically cracked that is) one. Quick way to get on top of this problem manually? Wouldn't want to go buy yet another copy, and I'm under pressure to fix it like yesterday. I'm a windows guy myself, a bit out of my depth here. And being in an apartment with a musician without her software is nervewracking.
Please?
