Hello. The battery in my old 6s has busted and pushed the screen out real bad. The 6s turns on but it has only 7% battery and I don't want to charge such a bloated battery. Now, is it worth ($$$) have it repaired or trying myself to do it with something like an iFixit kit? Or should I say a final goodbye to a great companion. His use now is mostly listening music or podcast. It's in mint condition, no scratch on the screen nor the body. Still as fast as was a 6s. iOS 15 running fine. If you recommend to dispose of it, what's the best way to do it. A physical destruction or charge enough the battery to erase it completely which I don't know how to do?

Do not charge. Battery could explode. Dispose of properly. Apple will accept for recycling no charge. Most electronic retailers accept for recycling no charge. If you want to fix yourself, you need battery & display, which will cost more than device is worth.. but perhaps learning is more valuable. As for your data, if you have locked w/ Passcode then you have no worries, especially if you have Find My Activation Lock enabled. Otherwise, physical destruction if you are paranoid.

Don't charge it! If you want to continue using the phone, purchase a new battery from a 3rd party parts supplier and replace it yourself. Plenty of instructional videos out the on the procedure

Hello and thanks for your answer. Do you mean that according to the pictures, the screen is bended and irrecuperable? If so, I will dispose of the 6s. Won't go through all the hassle.
