iPhone Blobs?

The iOS 6.1 jailbreak will be the first time I jailbreak. I updated my device though iTunes to 6.1 and I thought I just need to wait for the jailbreak now, but everyone is talking about these blobs that need to be saved. What is it?

Blobs/SHSH/hashes same thing, they are needed if you want to re-restore to 6.1 or downgrade to 6.1 if 6.1.x comes out.

You can only restore to the currently "signed" version by apple.

The blobs are those signatures

I saved my SHSH but there is nothing under "Saved SHSHs for device_name". What should i do?

in the advanced tab of TU uncheck Request SHSH from Cydia, than try again

Still not working...

In my Log it says "Apple is NOT signing iPhone4S 5.1.1 (9B206) SHSH requests anymore. All you can do now is select CYDIA and hope that CYDIA has your SHSH saved. IF not, there is nothing you can do."

This is confusing as I'm not on 5.1.1... but 6.1

Anyone know what the issue is?

Isn't it true that at the moment, even having the blobs won't allow one to downgrade?
